Episode 3 – The Death (Metal) of 2016

Welcome to the third installment of the Celtic Frosty Podcast. In this episode, I share tracks from some of the best and most unique death metal albums of the year so far.

2016 has been so stacked with great death metal that it was an extremely difficult task to cut this cast down to its hour-long run time. A few of the artists that didn’t make the cut include Necrot, Coffin Lust, From the Depths, Ritual Chamber, Chthe’ilist, Ripper and Necrosic – all with new albums that you should definitely go listen to immediately. In the end, I felt it would be better to stick with the albums that showcase the creative potential of modern death metal – those artists who reside along the edges of the genre, pushing them outward into new territory. Below is the full tracklist, as promised, with links to where you can listen to/buy the albums they appear on. As always, if you hear something you like, PLEASE support the artists and small labels that are working hard to produce quality music with basically no money.

Thanks for listening.
